Background: Chronic hyperglycemia is a major contributor to in vivo platelet activation in
diabetes mellitus. Objectives: To evaluate the effects of acarbose, an α‐glucosidase
inhibitor, on platelet activation and its determinants in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic
